Yabadabadoo! It's the fond exclamation that is heard from the much loved Fred Flintstone. Fred is a well known cartoon character that is a Neanderthal and believe it or not, he has actually been around for years, starting back in the 60's. This cartoon is one of the most beloved cartoons that Americans remember, and although the Flintstones have been around for years now, they are still loved by many, both young and old. So, let's take a closer look at Fred Flintstone and the rest of the crew.
You'll find that Fred, along with his characteristic Yabadabadoo is not the only one that stared in this American favorite cartoon. He was also joined in the show by Wilma, who was his wife and Pebbles, who was their daughter. In the cartoon, Barney Rubble was his best friend, and he had a wife named Betty and they both had a son Bamm Bamm. Of course you can't leave out the pet dinosaur, Dino, that the family had, as well as Baby Puss, who was a saber tooth tiger that was also a pet of the family.
Of course lucky Fred had a house full of appliances that were actually animals, spoofing on today's appliances. The buzzard was the garbage disposal, the lawnmower was a turtle, the record player was operated by a bird with a long beak, and of course the vacuum was a baby elephant that went through the house cleaning up. With all those great "appliances" to help out, it's no wonder that Fred's favorite word was Yabadabadoo.
Through the entire series, you'll find that both Fred and Barney are always getting into some interesting schemes to get rich quickly. Often they end in disaster. Fred also works in a rock quarry and he operates a special dinosaur that works in the quarry. Other positions that have been held by Fred include sheriff and bus driver as well.
Over time, if you watch the show, you'll find that Fred Flintstone is less than thrilled about doing chores around the house, much to the dismay of Wilma. Also, he is well known for his car that he actually moves around with his feet. Take some time to sit down and watch this show and no doubt you'll end up having some great laughs enjoying the old show. So, if you need a pick up or you're having a bad day, why not sit down and enjoy Fred Flintstone. Before you know it, you'll be joining Fred, saying Yabadabadoo.
